The dancehall is considered a type of reggae jamaica born around 1979 with artists such as Barrington Levy, Cutty rank and others. It is a stronger and raggae music that consists of a Sound system (sound equipment) and a dj singing on a track (also called riddims) of danceable reggae. This rhythm is older than the reggaeton and I think many of you had heard before and did not know what it was. It is also known as da ragga or raggamuffin. Some of the most famous artists of this genre are: Mr vegas, Elephant Man, Sean Paul, Beenie Man, TOK, Lady Saw, Capleton, Shaggy, Sizzla, Buju Banton, Bounty Killer and others.
